President Mnangagwa Urges Youth League to Expand Empowerment Projects, Backs Centralised Party Resources at 393rd Politburo Session
Harare – President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called on ZANU PF structures to strengthen support for the Youth League as it scales up transformational empowerment projects across the country’s districts, saying the wing must remain an empowered structure free from manipulation.
Addressing the 393rd Ordinary Session of the Politburo in Harare, the President said he was “equally pleased to address a vibrant National Assembly Meeting of the Youth League.” He noted that the youth wing’s expansion of programmes was a positive sign of grassroots mobilisation and self-reliance.
“It is impressive that the youth wing is broadening transformational empowerment projects for young people across all districts,” President Mnangagwa said. “I urge Party departments to give them the requisite support so that they remain an empowered structure, that tows the correct line of the revolution, free from manipulation.”
The President stressed that financial sustainability was a collective duty, declaring that “guaranteeing financial sustainability of our Party remains every member’s responsibility.”
He also welcomed the ongoing centralisation of Party resources, stating that allocations should prioritise programmes with measurable impact. “I expect the allocation of Party resources and assets to prioritise programmes and activities that result in higher impacts, and visible outcomes,” he said.
President Mnangagwa also reaffirmed the Party’s commitment to delivery:
“Tiri Musangano unozadzisa zvinangwa zvawo. Tiri Musangano wezvinobatika. ZANU PF is a Party that delivers.”
The remarks come as the Youth League continues to roll out income-generating and skills-based initiatives aimed at reducing youth unemployment and promoting self-reliance in line with Vision 2030.
