HARARE — As Zimbabwe pushes toward Vision 2030, the youth are being called to anchor their lives on values that guarantee long-term success.
Addressing young people, the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, Hon. Tino Machakaire, said moving with five key principles — hard work, honesty, love, accountability, and integrity — will help youths prosper in business, school, family, and community life.
“These five principles are not just words,” he said. “They are a compass. If our youth embrace hard work, honesty, love, accountability, and integrity, they will go far in every sphere of life.”
Hon. Machakaire explained that hard work opens doors, honesty builds trust, love fosters unity, accountability ensures responsibility, and integrity protects one’s name. Together, he noted, they form the foundation of ‘hunhu hwakanaka ‘ the good character that defines true leadership.
He urged young Zimbabweans to apply these values daily, whether running a business, studying, raising a family, or serving their communities.
“When we live by these principles, we don’t just succeed as individuals — we uplift our families, our communities, and our nation,” he said.
The Minister’s message comes as Government intensifies youth empowerment programs ahead of major national events, reinforcing the idea that Zimbabwe’s future will be built by a generation rooted in discipline and values.
