HARARE— Hon. Adv. F.T. Mhona, Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, today inspected progress on the new Cloverleaf Interchange at the junction of Harare Drive and Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Road, commonly known as Airport Road.
The project is a key component of government’s plan to decongest one of Harare’s busiest corridors, cut travel times to Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, and improve road safety for motorists and pedestrians.
Speaking to journalists on site, Minister Mhona hailed the interchange as a long-overdue milestone for the capital. He credited His Excellency President Cde. Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa for driving the national infrastructure modernisation agenda and prioritising projects that directly improve citizens’ daily lives.
“This development reflects our commitment to delivering quality, accountable infrastructure that serves the people,” Mhona said. “Once complete, it will unlock the construction of 10 additional interchanges along the Glenara route and surrounding roads, significantly easing traffic flow across Harare.”
The Minister was joined by Permanent Secretary Eng. J.P. Makumbe, heads of transport parastatals, and senior government officials during the tour.
